
Beef Burger with Mashed Potato
Dare to be different with the mashed potato inside the burger bun, pure deliciousness! Share with friends for a great snack or small meal
Ingredients
- 4 medium sandwich buns
- 2 medium potatoes
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp butter
Beef Patties
- 1.6 lb ground beef
- 1 medium egg
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp thyme
- 1/4 tsp rosemary
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
Sauce Ingredients
- 2 tbsp flour
- 3/4 cup chicken stock
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 3 tbsp cheddar cheese
- 3 tbsp mozzarella cheese
Instructions
Make the Mashed Potato
- In a large pot, cover potatoes with water and add a generous pinch of salt. Bring to the boil and cook until totally soft, 16 to 18 minutes. Drain and return potatoes to pot.
- Use a potato masher to mash potatoes until smooth
- Season mashed potatoes with butter, salt and pepper.
Make the Beef Patties
- Add the ground beef, stuffing, egg, parsley, and seasonings to a medium bowl. Use your hands to combine and form into four equal-sized patties.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Melt one tablespoon of butter in the skillet and add the beef patties
- Cook for 7 minutes on each side until the patties turn light brown.
Make the Sauce
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan
- Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Add in the chicken stock, stir until the mixture thickens and gravy is smooth.
- Now add cheddar and mozzarella cheese to it. Let it cook for a minute. Turn off the heat. The white sauce gravy is ready.
Make the Burgers
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt the butter on the skillet.
- Place the buns, cut side down, on the skillet to toast
- Top each bun with a beef pattie, a scoop of mashed potato and a creamy drizzle of sauce. Top with bun and serve.
